Vellos Purputidis is a Greek-American pilot with a lifelong passion for aviation and a reputation for precision, professionalism, and excellence in every flight. Holding dual citizenship and having lived in both Greece and the United States, Vellos brings a unique international perspective and cultural versatility to his aviation career.
His aviation journey began at a young age, inspired by his father, who was an airline pilot. Traveling alongside him to countless destinations around the world, Vellos was captivated by the energy of airports, the beauty of flight, and the discipline of the cockpit. Those early experiences sparked a deep love for aviation that would shape his future.
With over 2,500 flight hours, Vellos is type rated in the SF50 Cirrus Vision Jet and has extensive experience in a wide range of high-performance and complex aircraft, including the SR22, Bonanza series, Piper Saratoga, and Rockwell 114 Commander, among others. His diverse background enables him to adapt quickly, fly efficiently, and always prioritize safety and comfort.
Beyond aviation, Vellos holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, equipping him with a strong understanding of human physiology and performance — knowledge he applies to optimize his own physical readiness and to ensure the well-being of his passengers.
Vellos also served in the Greek Army, fulfilling his mandatory military service and gaining invaluable experience in discipline, teamwork, and leadership. This service further honed his ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in high-stakes environments.
